Dear Neighbour,
I’m writing to you because I believe we are people who care deeply about the future of our City and Region. As a
Waterloo citizen and ratepayer, I greatly value your opinion and advice.
I invite your household to play a very special role in my 2006 Regional Councillor Campaign. I want you by my side in
our eort to shape our community’s future for the next 4 years and beyond. I want and need your support, because like
you, I know we deserve stronger leadership at Regional Council.
In 2004, Regional Council voted to end the area rating of Grand River Transit service. This resulted in DOUBLING the
regional tax increase for WATERLOO residents and reducing the regional tax increase in KITCHENER to ZERO percent.
Between 2004 and 2006 regional councillors hiked spending by 30 per cent and raised taxes by an average of 3.6% per
year!
Waterloo cannot aord 4 more years of this kind of leadership at Regional Council!
We deserve stronger leadership.
